Since 2017 AMMISH is bringing joy to our beneficiaries during christmas time. It started with a funding from Santa Shoebox, a NGO that packs shoeboxes with useful and at the same time joyful presents for children in need. In 2017 we got 700 presents from Santa Shoebox that we were able to distribute amongst our kids. For many of them it was the first time that they got presents for christmas. Inspired by their shining eyes we directly applied for new funding in 2018, but unfortunately were not chosen. That was when we decided to do our own christmas campaign! Since then we have done three self-organized christmas events with support from local and international friends and were able to delight hundreds of children. We’re still trying to apply for Santa Shoebox funding every year, but have only be lucky in 2017 and 2020 so far.
